The US-Israeli war against Iran has been, at least temporarily, brought to an end. The final major act of the conflict was an Iranian attack on a US airbase in Qatar that was telegraphed in advance and did little damage. Both the US-Israeli side and the Iranian side agreed to stop attacking each other, though without any real on paper rules going forward which make the war’s resumption a distinct possibility. Israel suffered significant economic damage and the US-Israeli bloc was already facing weapons shortages, especially in the field of interceptors. Iran, while battered, survived the conflict with most of its military and nuclear programs intact, and several Iranian officials proclaimed dead by Israel have subsequently emerged alive.
In the wake of the conflict, a diplomatic scramble has ensued. The Gulf Arabs have been hastily distancing themselves from a potential future war as quickly as possible, with former Saudi intelligence chief and close CIA collaborator Turki al Faisal publicly accusing the West of hypocrisy and stating that they should attack Israel’s illegal nuclear arsenal rather than Iran’s civilian nuclear program. The Saudi defense minister and Iran’s chief of staff also held a phone call where Saudi condemned the the aggression against Iran and further agreed to future consultations to maintain regional stability. The US has sought to resume nuclear talks, once again alternating between incentives and threats of further attacks. Iran has signaled it is still open to some talks, but has begun expelling IAEA inspectors as having spied for the West and helped enable this recent attack while doing nothing to safeguard Iran’s nuclear facilities as is its mandate.
Meanwhile, Iran’s defense minister Aziz Nasirzadeh jetted off to Qingdao, China for a previously scheduled defense ministers’ conference as part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization almost as soon as the missiles stopped firing. During Nasirzadeh’s time there he consulted with his opposite numbers in the SCO, especially Russian and Chinese defense ministers. Nasirzadeh also showed significant interest in Chinese armaments, especially the J-10 fighters which just scored major successes in Pakistani hands against the Indian Air Force. Media from the region has reported that Iran is considering a major set of arms purchases from China, especially to beef up its air defenses which showed relatively poor performance during the recent conflict. Prominent US elites continue to believe that this gigantic mess they’ve created in the Middle East is necessary to lock down the region for the Western bloc in preparation for a war with China. Sentiment in both camps is that this is merely a pause at best, and that a war may easily resume in the very near future. Recent Israeli reports suggest that they are planning not only resuming war with Iran but also against Yemen, and the US is building a major new base expansion on the far side of Saudi Arabia.

Following recent discussions, China and the US have further clarified and solidified the Geneva trade truce understandings. Both countries have agreed to lift some measures placed on the other as part of a partial thaw in economic tensions. In particular, US whinging about rare earths has been unending, as US companies complain that even after the export ban has been lifted approvals have been slow and require much information to be disclosed (though these measures are mostly identical to similar US restrictions in other fields). The Trump administration has become increasingly desperate for better news on the trade front, especially after the US first quarter GDP figures show a 0.5% drop.

One of China’s last remaining land border disputes may be coming to an end in the future. Indian defense minister Rajnath Singh expressed a desire to reach a “permanent solution” to the border dispute between the two countries. Singh met with his Chinese counterpart on the sidelines of the SCO defense ministers’ summit. The two countries have had a disputed frontier for decades now as part of the legacy of British colonialism, and fought a major war over the issue in 1962. Since then, the frontier has mostly remained frozen where the PLA chose to leave it then, though there is fighting along line of control occasionally. As part of escalation management measures introduced by both parties, the fighting at the border does not incorporate firearms, with Indian and Chinese border troops instead engaging in melee combat with spears and clubs and the like. There have been some diplomatic pushes to permanently delineate the border, but all have ultimately foundered for one reason or another. Resolving this dispute permanently would mark a major step forward in China-India relations and remove a one of the biggest potential conflict points for China.

NATO’s latest warmonger summit has occurred in Brussels. A truly shameful level of brownnosing came from both the European officials and NATO secretary Mark Rutte, with the spineless fools publicly referring to Trump as “daddy”. At the summit, NATO officially approved their drastic new war spending hike demands, now at 5% of GDP. For perspective, Salazarist Portugal topped out at 4.5% whilst they were in the midst of fighting three(3) separate wars across Africa.

EU officials recently came to China for a major meeting with Chinese FM Wang Yi. Wang Yi will be journeying to Europe in the coming days for a reciprocal visit. China has outstretched a hand of friendship towards the European bloc in recent months, especially amidst Trump’s economic threats against Europe. The total NATO puppet regime in Prague is busy trying to undermine this though, with false allegations against Chinese diplomats and lies about supposed Chinese hacking.

China is also working successfully to build deeper ties with the developing world. At the “Summer Davos” in Tianjin, officials from across the developing world came together to deepen mutual ties and move away from an increasingly unstable and unreliable US. Separately, the President of Ecuador and the PM of Senegal both recently visited Beijing, where they were personally received by President Xi. Both countries expressed a further desire to deepen their productive relations with China. This week also saw the inauguration of the first direct China-Cuba air freight connection, signaling China’s stronger relationship with Cuba amidst Chinese aid for the rickety Cuban electrical system.

China has recently made major new strides in science and development. China has developed a minuscule robot capable of removing bacterial infections deep in the sinuses, offering a new non-invasive and drug free treatment option for such ailments. China has also identified a genetic switch that can restore the healing abilities of mammals, potentially providing a major breakthrough in treating major ailments of all kinds. In the energy sector, China’s solar installations hit a new high in the month of around 90 gigawatts. China has further deepened its self reliance with the unveiling of a new homegrown general purpose CPU for a variety of needs across the society. These continued efforts towards renewable energy both reduce China’s carbon emissions and provide it with greater energy security. By contrast, the US is preparing a law to destroy its own renewable energy sector out of anti-China malice and ideological stupidity.
